Founded in 1961, Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (TDSC) is a core subsidiary of Toshiba Corporation, contributing significantly to Toshiba's overall revenue. TDSC's business focuses primarily on two areas: the semiconductor department, which provides discrete semiconductors and system LSI, and the storage products department. The storage products department develops, manufactures, and supplies a wide range of storage solutions, including high-density near-line hard drives (a key product) for data centers, as well as other hard drives used in enterprise servers, PCs, surveillance systems, NAS, recorders, gaming consoles, and automotive applications. In September, TDSC launched its latest storage products, the Mx11 series of helium-sealed large-capacity hard drives, which includes the MG11 and MA11 series of enterprise-class hard drives. The MG11 series uses CMR technology and offers up to 24TB of capacity, while the MA11 series utilizes SMR technology and offers up to 28TB of capacity.
