In addition to the data center business, AMD(Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. ) has three major business segments: client, gaming, and data center. Its product types include processors, graphics cards, and FPGAs (following the acquisition of Xilinx). The client business encompasses notebook, desktop, and workstation CPUs and APUs. The gaming business includes Radeon series desktop and notebook GPUs, as well as semi-customized SoCs for gaming consoles. The data center business features EPYC processors and adaptive SoCs. AI is currently AMD's top priority, with a goal to further increase the revenue share from data centers. In July 2024, AMD invested $665 million to acquire Silo AI, Europe’s largest private artificial intelligence laboratory, which offers end-to-end AI-driven solutions. This acquisition is seen as a significant step for AMD in competing with Nvidia.
