Extended Information
The multivibrator has no stable state, only two quasi-stable states. Through the charging and discharging of capacitors, the two quasi-stable states alternate with each other, generating self-sustained oscillations without external triggering. The output is a periodic rectangular pulse signal rich in harmonic components, which is why it is called a multivibrator.
