Extended Information

An encoder is a type of sensor mainly used to detect the speed, position, angle, count, and distance of mechanical movement. It uses the principle of grating diffraction to achieve displacement-to-digital conversion. In addition to being used in machinery, many motor controls, such as those in servo motors, are equipped with encoders to provide data to motor controllers for commutation, speed, and position detection. Encoders are divided into two categories: analog encoders and digital encoders.
