Maxim Integrated was founded in 1983 under the name Analog Technology Corporation. In 1987, the company was renamed Maxim Integrated Products and listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange. Maxim specializes in analog semiconductor products, especially in power semiconductors, with distinctive features. The analog and mixed-signal solutions offered by the company include data converters, interface circuits, power supplies, RF wireless circuits, clocks and oscillators, microcontrollers, operational amplifiers, and sensors. The final markets for these products are mainly automotive, communications, data centers, consumer, and industrial markets. In August 2021, Analog Devices completed its acquisition of Maxim. The merged company, ADI, remains the world's second-largest analog chip designer by revenue, narrowing the gap with the industry leader, Texas Instruments.
